Shy Boogz Merlino

My Name is Dana Merlino aka Shy Boogz Merlino/LadyHood.. I was born in Williamstown,New Jersey on October 13 1982 moved to Philladelphia in 1984 & been here since.. I started writing poems when i was 9yrs old & always loved the sound of music so I started writing my own music @ the age of 11. Soon after I found myself jumping into cyphers on the North Philly streets @ the age of 13. I continued writing & started putting my music in song form but always kept the original swag of hip hop in my music. My first time recording in a studio was @ the age of 16.. In 2005 I was blessed with a beautiful baby boy & because I was a first time/single parent, I focused my energy on my child, I fell back from the studio's although I never stopped writing. When I felt as though my son & I was comfortable I went back into the studio's & brought a lot of songs with me.. Now @ the age of 30 I am still writing,building my music & blessed 2 say I am doing more,,in studio's,,doing as many performances as possible & taking on any challenges & opportunities that I come across or am invited 2. I am grateful for the things I have accomplished & for the chance 2 make a success, but in all reality I just want a good sound with good words 2 be heard & 2 keep the true meaning of hip hop alive,,no false tales.. I am an artist, a song writer, a performer as well as a poet but most importantly, I am a mother.. Stay Blessed...
